Jeff Polley, a 2002 graduate of Bellevue High School (BHS), was a three-year letterwinner and standout for the Redmen football team, while also earning a letter each in baseball and basketball.
Jeff earned a varsity basketball letter as a junior and one baseball letter as a senior on the Northern Ohio League champion team, but football is where he excelled for the red and white.
He still holds many Bellevue passing records after quarterbacking the Redmen during his junior and senior seasons. As a junior in the year 2000, Jeff threw for 3,148 yards which continues to be a single-season record at BHS, while connecting on 34 touchdown passes, also still a BHS record. He was named First Team All-NOL as a QB and Second Team as a punter, along with being named First Team All-NW Ohio at QB and Second Team All-Ohio.
As a senior co-captain and MVP, Jeff threw for 2,973 yards and 32 touchdowns while completing 188 passes (single season record). He was First Team All-NOL, First Team All-NW Ohio and Player of the Year in Division III, NW Ohio Football Coaches Association Player of the Year, First Team All-Ohio QB, and All-Ohio Player of the Year for Division III.
He holds the BHS record for most career touchdown passes (66), and is second all-time with 6,127 career passing yards. His mark of 3,148 yards as a junior currently ranks 39th all-time in the State of Ohio.
Jeff then attended Joliet Junior College in Illinois from 2002-04 and was Honorable Mention All-N4C League during the 2003 campaign. He then played at Western New Mexico University in 2006 and was Honorable Mention Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Jeff and his wife Lynsey were married this past summer. They reside in Bellevue. Jeff works for The Bellevue Gazette, and is also a member of Varsity Football Coaching Staff at Bellevue High School.
