Catheran Bibb Rodriguez, a 2000 graduate of Bellevue High School, earned 10 varsity letters during her time wearing the uniform of the Lady Red, including four letters each in cross country and track and field, and two more letters in basketball.
Catheran will always be remembered as one of the best runners to ever wear the red and white. She broke onto the running scene in 1996 as a freshman, finishing seventh overall at the Northern Ohio League Meet with a time of 20:17. She earned First Team All-NOL honors and helped lead the team to the NOL title. She also qualified to the State Meet, finishing 40th overall.
During her sophomore campaign in 1997, Bibb finished second overall at the NOL Meet with a time of 19:31 and was once again First Team All-NOL. She was the No. 1 runner for the Lady Red, who finished second overall as a team, just three points behind Bucyrus. The team was then second at Districts and sixth at Regionals. Catheran once again earned the right to run at State where she finished 13th overall out of 156 runners and earned All-Ohio status.
In 1998, Bibb ran 19:35 to win the NOL Meet and help lead her team to a fourth place finish. At the State Meet, Bibb was 11th overall and was once again All-Ohio. Finally, as a senior in 1999, Bibb was First Team All-NOL for the fourth consecutive year, finished second at the NOL Meet, and helped her team to the NOL title. At the State Meet, Bibb finished 22nd out of 144 runners.
As a freshman track and field athlete in 1997, Bibb was Second Team All-NOL in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs, helped the team win the NOL Meet and finish second at Districts. She qualified for Regionals and scored 126 points for her team that season, third best overall.
In 1998 as a sophomore, Bibb was Second Team All-NOL in the 1600 meter run and 3200 meter relay, and First Team All-NOL in the 3200 meter run. The team finished NOL runner-up. She again qualified for Regionals and scored 143 points for her team, second best overall.
In 1999, Bibb was Second Team All-NOL in the 1600 and First Team All-NOL in the 3200. The Lady Red again finished as NOL runner-up, and Bibb scored 146 ¾ points for her team. As a senior in 2000, Bibb was a captain, scored 111 points, and qualified for both Regionals and State.
In college, Bibb lettered at Heidelberg College in both golf and basketball. She is a Lieutenant in the North Carolina National Guard and will be serving her second tour overseas in Afghanistan. She is also a second grade teacher in the Lincolnton School System in North Carolina.
